Privacy policy
Effective: 9 October 2026
piercloud is a personal cloud service operated by Pier Carlo Cadoppi ("piercloud", "we"). This policy covers this website and the waitlist form. It does not cover the piercloud service itself, which is not generally available yet.
What we collect
- The email address you enter in the waitlist form.
- The optional note answering "How do you want your piercloud to be like?".
- The choice you make about monthly updates (stored once the updates stream goes live).
- Security data: Cloudflare Turnstile processes each submission to keep bots out, and may handle your IP address and set strictly necessary security cookies to do so. The waitlist also stores a keyed digest derived from the request's subnet so one network cannot flood the form; the raw address is not kept for that purpose.
Why we use it
- Email and note — to manage the waitlist, to invite you when a slot opens, and to understand what people want from piercloud. Legal basis: your request and the steps needed to answer it (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Monthly updates — only if you ticked the box and once the updates stream is live. Legal basis: consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). A confirmation email precedes the first update, and you can withdraw consent at any time from any update email.
- Anti-abuse processing — to keep the public form from being flooded. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
How long we keep it
Waitlist entries are kept until you are invited or until you ask us to delete them, and no longer than needed for that purpose. Security logs from the edge are kept by Cloudflare according to Cloudflare's own retention.
Who processes it
- Cloudflare, Inc. serves this website and provides Turnstile (anti-bot check). Cloudflare processes the request on our behalf; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- piercloud's own infrastructure stores the waitlist entry. It is hosted in Europe.
We do not use analytics, advertising or any other third-party tracker on this site.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent, by writing hello@piercloud.net. You may also complain to the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) or your local supervisory authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. Material changes will be announced on this page or by email.
